Well I finally finished Week 1! YAY!!
I need to plan some dedicated time to do this I think. I'm going to try to set aside Wednesday nights (after the kids are in bed and dinner is cleaned up) for for PL from now on.
Please bear with me as I'm still experimenting with the best way to photograph my layouts and I only have a standard point and shoot camera.
I'm more of a visual person rather than a journaller so this year's PL is going to have less wordy journalling. I think it still tells the same story but it's just more me!!
These are my favourite parts of this weeks layouts.
I'm loving the colours I choose this week. If you want some creative inspiration I highly recommend checking out Michelle Wooderson at Mish Mash.

Next Thursday is Australia Day. We are spending the entire day out either at the beach or on the estuary crabbing. It all depends on the wind that day. I've bought a flag banner, LED flag lanterns to hang across our shade gazebo and we've all got Australia Day T-shirts (hubbies request). I also picked up a packet of Australia day tattoos and I have a few other bits and pieces I've got stored from a previous Aussie Day party we've been to.
I'm going to make some ANZAC biscuits and Vegemite scrolls. for easy snacks on the day that don't need refrigerating or careful handling. We're having a great Aussie BBQ for dinner with friends. I have blue plates and red serviettes all ready to go. I'm really looking forward to it.
If your looking for some ideas for Australia Day here are some things I have pinned on Pinterest.
Bianca from A Little Delightful has some great printables available on her blog here.
Here's another great Printable available from Funkytime you can find here.
This site here has lots of activities for kids like colouring sheets and bookmarks for the
kids to colour.
These are actually American but hey since the colours are similar why not use
the ones that match.
I love Australia Day!

Yesterday we celebrated our 7th Wedding Anniversary.
Once upon a time we used to go out to dinner and stay at a fancy hotel for the night but times have changed ... for now! Babysitters are hard to come by at this time of year so we went out for a late breakfast as a family and then a swim at the beach. By the way this did not last long as Jasmin was very tired so we packed up and went home. We put Jas to sleep and got in the pool instead!
This year I made something for my husband for our anniversary. It's a map of our first date and then where we got married.
I got the idea off Pinterest and it was easy to make. We're going to hang in the bedrooom next to a photo from our wedding.

Here's a cheap and simple way to store those endless nappy sacks ...
I use an old Huggies wipes container.
I simply keep the bags of sacks on the bottom and a heap of sacks on the top.
I just pull out one as I need and all this can be done with one hand if you get an unexpected 'surprise'!

You know all those little bits n pieces of stationery that are every where in lots of different containers that your other half can never find? Well I decided to put them all in one place last year when I was redoing our study which you can read about here if you missed it. I love this box because before when I needed a clip or lacky band I had to put down the papers I had in my hand to use both hands to open the small tins I kept them in. Now I can open this box with one hand while still holding onto my pile of papers. Yay!
I got the idea here from the very creative ladies at eighteen25. It's a teacher appreciation gift you can find here but I decided it would be perfect for my study.
You can find these boxes for just a few dollars at your discounts stores, Kmart, Big W and lots more places. Mine has been sitting plain since I redid the study last year so the other day I decided it needed a makeover. I used the same idea on eighteen25 of using scrapbook paper to decorate the top but I laminated mine first then added the foam letters and attached it to the box with double sided tape.
It lives on top of our open shelf unit under our whiteboard
so that we can access it easily. I rather like it!!

Does anyone remember the Top 5 things on my wishlist for Christmas? Well you can find them here. I actually did very well for Christmas! My husband totally spoilt me - which I fully deserve of course. Hehe!!. I got some new earrings and an iPad. Yes an iPad!! Yippee!!
What's this got to do with project life? Well I'm trying out using a few apps on my iPad to help me with my Project life planning. But don't worry they are actually iPhone apps too so you don't have to have an iPad to use them too.
1. Project 365 - free
My problem is that I have lots of photos for my week so I'm going to trial using Project Life 365 - a free app to choose which photos I will use for the week. Here's the screenshot of my planning for week one. I'm loading all of my photos from my phone, my camera and husband's camera (he got his own for his birthday) on to my iPad using a special connector so I have lots to choose from. Of course this is not set in concrete and I may change my mind or add extras when I go to print them. But I like that it gives me a basic plan.
2. Momento - $2.99
This is app is a unique diary. You can use it like a diary but also connects to your social media apps. That way you can look back at a week and see all your diary entries/notes, facebook statuses, facebook check-ins, flickr photos tweets, instagram photos, Rss feeds and more! I'm going to find this app very useful to go back and fill in some blanks from last year.
Here's a link to more information about this great app - Momento
If anyone else has some great apps they use feel free to drop me an email, post it on the facebook page or share it in the comments section below.

Oh Project Life how I love thee!
This is my second year of doing Project Life and I'm even more excited this year. After having completed a year I feel more confident in putting more of my own creative vibes to this years. But I'm going to do this slowly with little baby steps.
So far I've got my Title page finished - well minus our family photo which we're doing this Sunday on our Wedding Anniversary.
I incorporated a free printable '2012 - Memories Start Here' by Catherine Davis at Design Editor that can be found here. This is where I got the idea to include a small tag with all of our ages as of January, attached with a mini-staple.
The camera stamp i used was incredibly cheap at one of my favourite stores Typo and of course I had to add a coffee cup!
I also decided to include a map of where we live (I blurred my actual suburb name in the above photo for personal reasons). I simply Google imaged my suburb and choose a map that best suited my colour scheme then printed in onto a journaling card. If your not sure how to print from your computer straight onto journaling cards you can find a great tutorial at Paislee Press here.I do mine a little simpler by typing in a word document or just printing what a want then aligning my journalling card exactly where I want it and reprinting. I might need to do a future post to explain that better!
If you've never heard of Project Life you can check out this wonderful product by Becky Higgins here.

2011 was a great year for me personally and a great year as a family.
We welcomed our beautiful little Jasmin into the world and watched in joy as Molly's personality shone through as she grew into the gorgeous little toddler she is today.
We just about completely redid our front and back yards. These were mammoth tasks and my lovely husband worked so hard to get these done ASAP so the kids had a more child-friendly yard. Just a few more projects to do this year!
One of the many other great things that happened this year is this blog and it's facebook page I have met some truly wonderful people on this journey. Thank you all for your kindness and support. I'm back for 2012 now so I thought I'd start slowly with having a look back at the Top 5 posts I had last year.
Cheers to 2011 and bring on the fabulous 2012!!
